Which is the Cloud Computing? Cloud computing, often simply called “Cloud”, means storing and accessing data and programs over the Internet instead of directly on our computer's hard drive. Thus, the capacity of devices and companies becomes unlimited. What's more, saves costs and offers the flexibility to hire only what is needed at any time.
It talks about up to six different categories, understanding which helps to better grasp what cloud computing is:
- Software as a service (SaaS): Cloud-based applications run in the cloud. Other people or companies own and operate these devices, which connect to users' computers, usually through a web browser.
- Platform as a service (PaaS): Here, The cloud hosts everything you need to create and deliver cloud-based applications. This eliminates the need to purchase and maintain hardware, software, hosting and much more.
- Infrastructure as a service (IaaS): IaaSInfrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is a cloud computing model that provides virtualized computing resources over the Internet. Allows businesses to access servers, Storage and networking without the need to invest in physical hardware. This offers flexibility and scalability, allowing users to adjust resources according to their needs. IaaS es ideal para startups y empresas que buscan optimizar costos y mejorar su capacidad operativa.... provides businesses with ready-to-use servers, storage, networks and data centers.
- Public cloud: certain companies own and operate these spaces and provide fast access to users on a public network.
- Private cloud: Similar to a public cloud, except for the fact that it is a single entity (Username, organization, enterprise, etc.) that has access.
- Hybrid cloud: It takes the foundation of a private cloud, but provides access to the public cloud.
Closely related to what is Cloud Computing, it is the Internet of Things (IoT), which refers to connecting devices other than the usual ones to the Internet. We are talking about vehicles, kitchen appliances and even health monitors.

This data is very distinctive and can be defined by qualities such as the following:
- It comes from anywhere and from any device.
- It arrives at all times, like a continuous stream of information.
- Each piece of IoT data, in itself, does not generate value on its own since value is extracted from analyzing a collection of it, which is what has the capacity to contextualize the study of information.
If cloud computing transformed the organizational ecosystem, the IoT it is doing the same, forcing them to consider whether they need real-time processing and analysis tools, and forcing them to choose, mejor que nunca, sus fuentes de información, para asegurar la rentabilidad de sus inversiones en tecnología.
