Updating RDP on Windows 7

The Windows Remote Desktop system 7 is used for a multitude of tasks, including organizing workflow within a large company. Therefore, it is very important to have the latest version of this software.

How to update RDP

Since the software package in question is part of the system, it can only be updated by installing a special system update and enabling the feature after installation.

Paso 1: install the KB2592687 update

A new version of Remote Desktop can be installed through a special update with the number KB2592687.

1. Open the site at the link above and scroll down a bit to the section “Loading update”.. Click on the download link for the operating system update corresponding to your bit size.

2. Download the installation file to any convenient location and run it. First, Confirm that you want to install the update by clicking “Yes”..
3. Wait for the update to install, Then close all open programs, click on “To close”. and restart the PC.

Paso 2: Enable protocol

After installing the latest version of RDP, you need to enable it. This is done as follows:

1. Open a window “To run”. with a keyboard shortcut Win + RType the command in the input field gpedit.msc and press “AGREE”..
2. Navigate to the next address in the directory tree on the left:

3. Open the policy “Permitir Protocolo de escritorio remoto (RDP) 8.0” haga doble clic con el botón izquierdo del mouse y seleccione la posición “Enable”..
4. Guarde los cambios realizados y reinicie la computadora nuevamente.
