Change email address in Gmail

It is not feasible to change the address in the Gmail email, as in other popular services. But you can always register a new mailbox and redirect it. The impossibility of changing the name of your email is because only you will know the new address, and users who want to send you a message will find an error or send a message to the wrong person. Mail services cannot do this automatically. Only the user can do it.

Move the information to the new Gmail

As mentioned previously, to change Gmail address without much loss, you must migrate your important data and create a redirect to a new email account. There are several alternatives to do it.

Method 1: import the data directly

For this method, You must directly specify the email from which you want to import the data.

1. Create a new email in Jimmail.

2. Go to the new email and click the gear icon in the upper right corner, and then go to “Settings”..
3. Go to tab “Account and import”..
4. Click on “Import mail and contacts”.
5. In the window that opens, You will be asked to enter the email address from which you want to import the contacts and emails. In our case, from the old mail.
6. Then click … “Keep going”..
7. When i pass the test, proceed again.
8. Another window will ask you to connect to your old account.
9. Accept access to the account.
10. Wait for the verification to complete.
11. Check the items you want and confirm.
12. Your data now, after a while, will be available in the new email.

Method 2: create a data file

This option is about exporting your contacts and emails to a separate file that you can import to any email account.

1. Go to your old Jimmail mailbox.
2. Click on the icon “Gmail”. and in the drop-down menu, select “Contacts:”..
3. Click on the icon with the three vertical bars in the upper left corner.
4. Click the button “Plus”. and go to “To export”.. In the updated design, this feature is not enabled at this time, so you will be prompted to downgrade.

5. Follow the same path as the new version.

6. Select the parameters you want and click “To export”.. The file will download to your computer.

7. Now, in your new account, go to the route “Gmail”. – “Contacts:”. – “Plus” – “to import”..
8. Upload the document with your data by selecting the desired file and importing it.
