How to fix DF-DFERH error-01 when recovering data from server on Android in Play Store

Contents

One of the most common recent errors on Android phones when downloading or updating apps on the Play Market is the DF-DFERH server data recovery error-01 with the button “Repeat”, that generally does not solve anything.

This instruction details the alternatives to correct the DF-DFERH error-01 on your android mobile, one of which might work for you. I recommend that you do not skip the steps, including the ones you have already done (how to delete cache), but act in the suggested sequence. The error in its essence does not differ from another similar: Error RH-01 when receiving data from the server on Android.

Check if the DF-DFERH error-01 is generated by third-party applications or network problems

Before proceeding to the next method to correct the error in question, I recommend you check it:

  1. Does the error appear if you connect the phone to a different network? As an example, if connected via Wi-Fi, connect via mobile network and vice versa.
  2. Error appears if Android restarts in safe mode.

More on the last point: after restarting the phone in safe mode, all third-party apps are disabled, including those that may affect the connection of Play Market with servers.

If Play Market apps are installed in safe mode without DF-DFERH error-01, it can be assumed that some additional apps on the phone are to blame, most of the time they are: antivirus and other Android protection tools, programs to Clear phone memory, VPN, any accelerator download and work, ad blockers. Warning: If you configured the VPN yourself in the connection settings, safe mode will not remove these settings and may cause the error described. Try clearing the VPN from your settings.

In case everything works in safe mode, restart your phone in normal mode and disable all those third party apps one by one until you identify the one causing the error.

Clear the cache, data and remove updates from Play Market

Many people skip this step and write that “never helps”, despite this, I recommend following the steps below to fix the DF-DFERH error-01. Screenshots come from pure Android, on your phone, interface and configuration path may be slightly different, but the logic is the same:

  1. Go to Settings – Applications (o Applications and notifications – Show all apps on Android 10 Y 9 pure). In the list of applications, busque Google Play Market.
  2. Touch Play Market and, if buttons are present, Touch “Clear cache” Y “Delete data”. If the buttons are not present, press “Storage” and then press “Delete storage” Y “Clear cache”.
  3. Then restart Play Store and check for DF-DFERH error-01.
  4. If the error continues to appear, go to the Play Market app settings again, click on “Deactivate” Y, when prompted to remove updates or “install the original version of the application”, reply “To accept”.
  5. After clearing the updates, click on “Activate” in app settings, launch the app and test it. It is also possible that you have to wait for the application to update.

If the above doesn't work, repeat the same steps for Google Play Services applications (o Google Play Services), Google Services Framework and Downloads. To show the last two applications in the list, must activate system applications (generally in the menu button at the top right of the screen).

How to reset Google account on Android to fix DF-DFERH error-01

Another method to fix the error “Error receiving data from DF-DFERH server-01” is to reset the Google account on the phone. To do this, follow the steps below (important: You must know your Google account password to perform the steps described, otherwise it is possible that it will not recover):

  1. Go to Settings – Accounts – Google (if this subsection does not exist, just select your Gmail account from the list).
  2. Click on Delete account.
  3. After deleting the account, add the same google account again.

After adding it, check if the problem is solved. Learn more about how to delete an account and video.: How to delete a Google account on your android mobile.

Checking the permissions of Play Market and other applications

Note: The setup items for the methods described below may not be available on some versions of Android and some brands of phones.. Just in case, if you can't find the item you need, use your phone's settings search.

In the data transfer settings of the Google Play Market and Google Play Services applications, check if background data transfer and unlimited data transfer are enabled.

At the same time, in the advanced settings of the application (if said element is present in your Android version), check yourself “Change system settings” is disabled (must be enabled for these apps).

Install the latest version from Play Store

If the apps in Play Market don't download and update, reporting the error in question, try manually downloading the latest APK from Play Market (Google Play Store if you search in English), from a third-party app site (more details : how to download APK apps from Play Market and third party sources). As an example, the latest version is always enabled in apkpure.com/google-play-store/com.android.vending

After downloading the APK file, you must give permission to install it, install it and check if downloading and updating apps works now.

Video-tutorial

To end, just in case, an additional instruction of a more general nature: What to do if you can't download apps from the Play Market on Android. Also note that in some Android emulators, on old versions of Android (at the time of writing this post, 4.4 and earlier), as well as specific Chinese phones, any correction method may not work.
