In order to minimize possible errors or problems in the loading stage of the ETL processes, a disk area is regularly reserved to be able to recover data in stages. This is why we can affirm that the staging is closely related to both administration and data recovery.
It makes it possible to separate the loading procedure by blocks or stages. Which is very useful and practical when working with millions of data, since it avoids having to restart the whole procedure in case of error or breakdown. As an example, if there was a power outage, you would just have to repeat the data dump of the specific block where the incident occurred, with the rest of the information securely in the area of staging.
If implemented correctly, makes it possible to restart the different phases of the ETL procedure independently. This means that if, as an example, transformation procedure fails, it would be enough to repeat this stage again, but it would not be necessary to repeat the previous stage: the extraction.
